Dog people since 2000
Country Dogs is owned and run by Karen Newsham, who has worked with pets and their families for more than 25 years. It started in 2000 with Happy Tails, a home pet-care service for Clinton and the surrounding towns. In 2012 Country Dogs opened in Bolton as a premier, first-of-its-kind daycare and pet boutique located at the historic Salt Box.
Today we're at 360 High Street in Clinton (we moved here from Main Street in September 2026), focused on what we love most: professional grooming and a boutique full of things we'd buy for our own dogs. Karen is still here every day, and every dog on our wall of fame is one we've gotten to know by name. Dog owners come to us from Clinton, Bolton, Lancaster, Sterling, Berlin, Boylston and beyond.
